Daniel and I first met at Emigrant Lake in Ashland, OR back in 2018. We spent the day shotgunning beers, playing games, and, later that afternoon, practicing our questionable diving skills into Glenna’s pool. While we didn’t start dating until 2022, we stayed good friends over the years even when I moved away to Chicago, IL.
During a trip to Oregon for my cousin Sam’s graduation, Dan invited me to a sunrise hike to Pilot Rock. We reached the top just as the sun came up, and—much to my surprise—he had secretly packed coffee and brewed us a cup to enjoy while taking in the view. (A gesture that, in hindsight, set the bar pretty high.) Shortly after that trip, we started dating, despite living 2100 miles apart.
In 2023, we took the leap, moved together to Denver, Colorado. On a beautiful sunny day in August 2025, while hiking at Brainard Lake Recreation Area, Dan proposed. I obviously said yes — and look where we are now!
We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you and can’t wait to eat, drink, dance, and celebrate together on the Oregon coast.
